The Role
The Logistics Coordinator is dynamic and requires a combination of organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. They are essential in ensuring that goods are delivered timely and efficiently while maintaining cost-effectiveness and compliance with regulations.
Logistics Coordinator responsibilities includes but are not limited to research products, supporting the developing, implementing, maintaining and improving procedures to ensure all shipments are processed in a cost-effective manner while meeting required departure, arrival and expected dates.
Responsibilities
Research and resolve purchase order discrepancies pertaining to price and quantity differences.
Sort/distribute mail, establish and maintain filing systems, order and maintain office supplies, update asset and inventory control as well as greet visitors and answer/screen and redirect phone calls to appropriate staff/business unit
Manage and prioritize own workload to meet urgent deadlines and provide effective support as part of an administrative team
Process, confirm, and track all purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
Demonstrate judgment, decision-making and analytical skills to determine priority and forwarding of action items to staff, supervisor and/or management
Work collaboratively with all internal departments to effectively execute procurement related activities and to successfully resolve issues.
Generate and distribute reports, expedite order, arrange shipping, prepare files for Costing.
Assist in general departmental issues including; review invoices, assist with issue resolution and troubleshooting, build understanding and capabilities in procurement processes,
Identify and adopt best procurement practices and support corporate policies, goals/projects
You are able to determine the extent of information to be provided in responding to inquire and assessing confidentiality of information to avoid improper release/disclosure of information and identify and resolve discrepancies.
Requisition supplies and materials.
Ensure smooth operation of computer systems and company equipment for maintenance and repair work
Conduct research on potential suppliers, review P.O. , compare best prices and products available
Actively participate in team member efforts as requested
Perform additional administrative duties as required.
Maintain good housekeeping practices (e.i. kitchen duties)
Qualifications
Minimum of one (1) year experience in Business Administration or Logistics. A bachelor's degree or college diploma in business administration, commerce, economics or engineering.
1+ year experience in Energy Industry an asset.
